i get oily smoke coming out of my breathers,mainly the crankcase breather,oil also comes out from the dipstick hole.have outed crankcase breather into carb but the other breather now smokes. |

not sure what it is mate, my normally aspirated does it also, I believe it the engine breathing past the rings, I dont think is too alarming my old engine did it also. I am putting extra breather pipes out of the rocker cover and into a catch tank. |

mine was very smokey out of the transfer case breather before i stripped it down, and oil was leaking out of the filler cap. When i took it to karls to check the rings out there were no signs of any blow by at all on the pistons, they were lovely and shiney below the oil control rings.

at what temp of the oil does it smoke, because it will smoke if the oil is hot say around 90 - 100 deg. always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas |

it only breaths when its at normal running temp,but like i say i did a compression test and it appeared ok.
