i get oily smoke coming out of my breathers, mainly the crankcase breather, oil also comes out from the dipstick hole.have outed crankcase breather into carb but the other breather now smokes.

have done cr test an theyre all around the 150 mark, any ideas what it is? are my rings fucked or what?

(this is the supercharged turbo engine, theres a breather on crank case,an a breather where the fuel pump plate is.)

im gathering its fucked knowing my luck *frown*

not sure what it is mate, my normally aspirated does it also, I believe it the engine breathing past the rings, I dont think is too alarming my old engine did it also. I am putting extra breather pipes out of the rocker cover and into a catch tank.

mine was very smokey out of the transfer case breather before i stripped it down, and oil was leaking out of the filler cap. When i took it to karls to check the rings out there were no signs of any blow by at all on the pistons, they were lovely and shiney below the oil control rings.

I was running 2 breathers the other was on the timing cover, going to run another from the rocker cover when i put the engine back in and a catch tank if i can get hold of one.

pretty sure oil shouldnt come out of the dipstick hole though to be honest, mine only did that when i'd got a big hole in the piston :(

it only breaths when its at normal running temp, but like i say i did a compression test and it appeared ok.

is it something to do with the supercharger pressurising the crankcase?

ive got 2 breathers,maybe i need more??

so what do we rekon then??

cheers for the help lads
