so

ive got these 2nd hand shocks. rears are fine and adjust perfectly but both front adjusters just keep spinning and dont come to a solid stop like they should do. Ive spoken to spax who informed me of the obvious, they think the adjusters are broken. They cannot be fixed and only new units can be supplied.

without getting into any technical arguements, has anyone ever attempted to remove, replace the adjuster. As they are oil filled not gas i expect this is ok to do.

I am going to strip one anyway to satisfy my curiosity and if i end up buying some more then ill cross that bridge....

I see from googling etc this is a common problem with the adjustable dampers.

will post picks when i have removed adjuster.

Have you seen what new adjustable dampers cost?

im not too bothered about the cost of buying new dampers, it was a thing at the time that they were cheap. Ive got another set of gas shocks, it was more of a trial thing i was going to do to compare the two types.

The adjusters all seem to stick on the spax ones, i have removed the adjuster now and well...

I think i shall have top go out and buy some new ones and routinely adjust them to stop them sticking.

for those who are interested.

pucture of broken pin.
