hi all i was trying to set up my fuel pressure reg but could not get fuel pressure below 5 so i changed my return line to the tank as the rubber had gone hard and shrunk so replaced with 8mm hose but still couldnt get it below 5 psi. also is this linked to this whilst drivng and car starts to come on boost it hesitates and holds back and also if i rev it whislt standing still it seems rough but it is sparking etc
by the way i have tryed the tee piece trick

thanks charlie

Replace the regulatory my guess its goosed or weaken the spring inside it,

is your fueling spot on? Have you a lambda gauge ? and what timing are you running megajolt or original dizzy? . . . Prey tell us more

Buy your self an AEM lambda gauge, from e bay they are cheap is now!, then you will know where you are.

After sorting the fuel pressure out go to the rolling road and get it set up CORRECTLY for the maximum. Boost your engine is built for ie compression there is no excuse, that dizzy has a little too much advance @ 28 degrees Max advanced to safegaurd your engine if you want to run boost levels of 12 pounds or over it all depends on many factors though but. .... its just general. Advise, your rolling. Road. Is your best friend

Let us all know what power and torque it produces get a graph of it,

And don't forget to fill the tank with high octain fuel for a safegaurd befor you hand it over to the gibbons.......lol

I would say get it tuned/ rolling roaded on whatever your standard fuel is.
But if you are purely going for a power run with no changes to be made then run high octane - probably won't help with power but will be safer - which I think is what Steve means

5psi isn't a problem. As long as the pressure is not breaking open the needle walve in the float bowl it's not a problem.

The FPR does not affect the fuel pressure on boost. All it does is in crease the feed pressure of the fuel to continue to fill the folat bowl up while under boost. It needs to do this as the float bowl becomes pressurised when boost is made.

Your car will run fine (even with boost) with the fuel pump turned off (until the float bowl empties that is).

Whatever your running issues are it's unlikely to be FPR related, as long as it's not breaking open the needle valve.

check the diaphragm in the fpr ,,,look closely for little splits .

Medusa + injection = too much torque for the dyno ..https://youtu.be/qg5o0_tJxYM

hi all manged to take apart and cleat the fpr but that did not fix to running problems, i found it to be because of the dashpot spring being to weak so changed that and now is sorted thanks for the help

Right just finished reading tbis thread. You need to fit the fuel pump resistor to the fuel pump! I do not know if you can still get your hands on the original part so I will get you the exact spec of the one fitted to my car

I am betting your running an original metro turbo fuel pump or an original rover SD1 Maestro Efi or turbo fuel pump and that will be why your having this issue.

Early Metro turbos were equipped with these resistors and if you check the wiring diagram you will see this identified.

I have one fitted for this very reason, also it also stops the pump from cavitating and stalling which was a massive issue for me.
