I'm looking to enter the Mod prod class in some hillclimb events and after looking at the MSA regs I've got some questions for you guys in the know (Wil H i'm looking at you..)

The question are three fold. Can I:

replace the side and rear glass with poly?

cut vent holes in the front valance?

Add a brace between the rear damper top mounts?

Thanks
Andy

Firstly we need to know what class you are intending to run in. Road going or non roadgoing?

These mods would be fine in Non roadgoing. Your car can still be road legal to race in non roadgoing. In fact roadgoing is more difficult to compete in as mods are restricted.

If you go full non roadgoing mod prod (as the title of this thread) then you need to look at the safety aspects, but mainly you will just need a cage.

Was being a bit thick, I didn't notice Mod Prod in the original thread.

The answer to all the questions is yes for mod prod.

Lots of championships are listing events and some clubs have also listed them.

Most kick of end of march.

Regarding the rollcage policy are they likely to get peculiar with non-standard rollcages. Mine is a bolt in safety devices jobbie, that has been welded in, and the sticker is now missing. Is this likely to be an issue?

The series I'm entering this year will require me to comply with the mod prod rules.

Apart from the rollcage issue, and maybe tubbed arches everything else is in order.

If you are hillclimbing/sprinting in mod-prod you will need an MSA logbook. The roll cage without a sticker should be ok at the moment, but in the future this is likely to change.

They come as standard. One spring on each side of the spindle. You should not need to add anything.

Hmm, this could get fun trying to remove the rear half to replace with a stickered one!

Once you have a logbook you will not need to change the cage. But if the rules change you will need a sticker to get a logbook. Well that is the easiest way. Otherwise you need to prove the materials you have used, etc.

I have a quick question.

I notice looking though the regs that batteries should be in a leak proof container. Does it matter what the container is? I have a nice battery sized lunch box at home and it would be the perfect vessel. Its located under a seat anyway so not exactly obvious.

The regs just say leak proof container.
