Only needed for a 'wet' battery. something like a Varley redtop is classed as dry. So no need for a container.

Wicked, I'm running one of the little lithium ion batteries, no need to worry then!

Thanks.

I know that people have been asked to put dry batteries into boxes before. I would probably put it in a box,to save any possible hassle.

Yes but the scrutineer was wrong. And as you well know, there is no shame in educating scrutineers.

To dig up an old thread.

For mod prod is a bmw K1200 head conversion and fibreglass boot floor acceptable? It mentions the block needs to be externally identifiable as the original and that the engine must be of the 'original type' which is a little unclear.

From reading the blue book the car applies in all other aspects.

leeds/wakefield.

in theory you are not allowed to remove any part of the original floor forward of the rear wheel centre line.

Where does it say that carl? I'm finding that a lot of the nitty gritty of the regs isn't written and seems to float about as common knowledge amongst current competitors.

I love how open the hillclimb/sprint regs are but it does mean it's hard to build a car when it comes down to what the scrutes interpretation of them is on the day

It basically says that the you cannot alter the unitary construction between the wheel centres. Unitary is defined in section B.

Thus you can alter the unitary construction outside of the wheel centres.

Yes the blue book is vague and is interpreted in different way by different people, but when one sentance has to cover lots of different cars and construction types it has to be a less than specific statement.

In all forms of motorsport, pushing the boundaries of the rules is part of the game.
