Hi all,

I have searched the forums and web, but still finding it difficult to get the info I need.

I am build a turbo engine and really need some help in regards to ignition please.

I have bought majority of my megajolt set-up and this time is definitely a MAP Version one *wink*, the only thing I need is the VR sensor and bracket now. The only problem I have is how to set this all up, as I have no clue.

So I was thinking about buying a cheap dizzy for the time being, untill I understand how the Megajolt works. If I do buy a dizzy do I need a turbo version one and how do identify this is a turbo one or can I just use a 1275 N/A MG Metro one?

Cheers

Bobby

I fitted megajolt within a day. If you have the diagrams its not hard...

Plus the first trip that i would be taking would be to a rolling road to have it set up. Why would you do it twice?

just use the MJ site? its explains how to set up the pulley etc pretty simple. you basically want the missing tooth 90 deg off the sensor when at "top dead centre"

http://www.autosportlabs.net/MJLJ_V4_vehic...tallation_guide

for the vr sensor
http://www.med-engineering.co.uk/catalogue...and-bracket-kit

http://www.med-engineering.co.uk/catalogue...lley-management

but you also need
http://www.med-engineering.co.uk/catalogue...mic-damper-ring

or
http://trigger-wheels.com/store/contents/en-uk/d5.html

call http://www.specialist-components.co.uk/ they sold me there VR sensor.

Loads of places where info is available. What i used

For the crank sensor, get Tom Fenton to machine your damper and supply a sensor bracket. They are fit and forget items then.

Thanks for the help guy, I already have the trigger wheel, one that is machined into the original pulley, the only thing I do need now is the VR Sensor and Sensor Bracket

Kappa, in in the same boat with regards to MJ, there's lots of use full information on autosportslabs website and forum.

i must of spent many nights now reading up on it and think i've got it sorted.

even contacted Tom for a pulley and bracket, its an easier way of getting the VR sensor and trigger wheel in the right spot instead of working out 9 teeth the missing one at TDC on a home made bracket.

there's not much too the wiring either, the main task with mine will be converting MJ from TPS to MAP which i have ordered the parts.

hopefully going to make a loom over xmas can do a post if required.

i'll go for the full on stuff, got a trip to RS in morning to pick up bits to convert MJ from TPS to MAP so will call in maplin and pick a couple of meters up. I assume you can also use it for PIP and SAW connections between MJ and EDIS 4.

I used the cable from the link above recently when I rewired my engine. It does have string in it but it wasn't a issue :)
