If you are looking for a luxury ride... Look no further.

On the exterior, the indulgent red metallic paintwork shows off all of the Kensington's curves. So much that you will hardly notice the small chips and scuffs or the rusty wheel arch on the passenger rear quarter. Luxury greyish bumpers add contrast, setting the car off perfectly. This car turns heads!

The inside is lavished with probably the finest, synthetic, grey and black velour upholstery, coupled with grey plastics and black plastics and other exotic... plastics. The anti-slip mat on the dash will prevent even the lightest of objects from being displaced when stationary. Not that you will need to keep any items on the dash as the spacious boot is more than capable of containing all the golf clubs you'd ever need.

Under the bonnet lives a ferocious beast. The fuel injected, 1100cc 8v Rover K series with more power than even the fastest motorised scooter. 5 gears is plenty of choice even for the most indecisive driver and, as expected, the little beast starts on the button every time (this is true!). A meare 68,000 miles on the clock, this piece of engineering excellence is barely run in. Couple this with a slightly blowy exhaust and noisy clutch release bearing and you have yourself a very sorted package.

As with all cars of this vintage, there is a few minor jobs to do. The handbrake works as intended, but doesn't return very nicely. The guys at Rolls Royce said that it is probably because the handbrake linkages on the rear drums are seized. Not a big job. The exhaust has plenty of patina, is a bit noisey and has had bodges in the past. Other than this its a good, cheap (I mean good value.. Not cheap) reliable runaround has tax till the end of Jan and has a long MOT left.

A steal at £350 ono.

Pics to follow.. I bet you can't wait!

I also have an early 1400 k series, engine and box from an spi metro Gti and a turbo exhaust manifold from an 1800 MG turbo ( fits the 1400) that I could part with. Obviously for a few more beer tokens.

Plan was to fit the Metro with the boosted 1400 and have one amazing sleeper. I'll regret not doing it, but just won't have the time or money for a long while.

If the turbo manifold is spare after the car has gone, let me know how much you want for it.

Also, insurance is still valid until next Saturday so can be driven away.

I'm not here next week, but there will be someone around if needed.

The 1400 I have is likely to be a damp liner block. If that's the cunning plan you are formulating?

I'm a very long way from splitting liners. Shall we leave this thread for Gary to sell his wonderful car and I'll start a new one when I get that far...

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...
