A/r, trim, and maps ?!?

hello

please can someone explain to me what A/r, trim, and maps are, and how do you work them out,

preferably in simple terms to start with, then i may fire off some more technical questions

trim is another ration, which is the the inducer squared, divided by the exducer squared (where the inducer is the smaller diameter of the radial compressor wheel, and the exducer is the larger diameter of the radial compressor wheel)

maps show the area in which the compressor wheel performs best, i did have a good link somewhere which allowed you to calculate etc what size turbo you need

some other people may be able to offer a more concise answer..
