You need an electric one , that one looks ok but I would go with the tried and tested Bosch one. |

The regulator needs to be a type that raises fuel pressure with boost. On 7th Oct, 2010 5haneJ said:

no matter what fuel regulator you have you need an electric pump, just get an SPI or MPI tank. or as the lads say, buy a bosch one. |

Unfortunately cannot use a MPI or SPI tank, as I am turboing my clubby estate and these tanks will not fit. So I will need a bosch one. What if I use a facet one, but if I use the facet one, which one, as there are so many to choose? |

Hi all, I am building my turbo conversion for my car, which will be a MG metro turbo, with a mirage manifold and t2/t25 hybrid turbo with 360 degrees thrust bearing, it will be running on a megajolt setup and will be running a intercooler as well. I just wanted to find out in regards to fueling, will this be a good pump and regulator kit to use: 1. It is a sytec external fuel pump model otp020 - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SYTEC-FSE-OTP020...r-/170859211248 2. a fpr fuel regalater kit - http://compare.ebay.co.uk/like/13081852249...type=pla&crdt=0 All help is really appreciated. Thanks Bobby Pump is fine. The FPR kit even if it wasnt cheap crap, is of no use to a carburetor engine whatsoever. 9.85 @ 145mph

As for mechanical pumps, there are no mechanical pumps that I am aware of that would be suitable for a turbo Mini. ( unless you're talking 2000+hp mechanical pumps ) Are you after a pump that requires threaded fittings, or one that simply has push on barbs ? 9.85 @ 145mph

They do not like drawing air. 9.85 @ 145mph

I use the push-on type, so long as you use proper fuel hose clips (not jubilee clips) it will be fine and I run a lot higher pressure as I'm fuel injected.
Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ??? |

Well the pipes I have running on the car are 8mm standard copper ones fuel and return then it's an added hassle and expense to use a pump with threaded fittings which then need adapted to a push on barb. Just source a regular Mini turbo pump ( cavalier SRI, Golf GTI of same vintage ) and it has a 10 or 12mm inlet, and 8mm outlet for easy connection. Although I see they dont offer photos of the pumps on Sytec's site anymore, which hardly helps matters. Something like this, Matt Lewis is a well respected seller, certainly within Ford circles so no problems there. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SYTEC-MOTORSPORT...=item23262f55c3 Edited by stevieturbo on 18th Dec, 2012. 9.85 @ 145mph
