Hi all,

Sorry for all the questions, i just want to get some advise before i buy any parts and not make stupid mistakes and buy the wrong parts. (like I have before!!!)

Basically I am building my turbo engine which my head is:
- Chambers enlarged to just over 24cc
- 8 new double valve springs
- Fitted new bronze guides to the exhaust valves
- Fitted new stem seals on the inlets
- Re-cut the exhaust seats
- All 8 valves have been lapped in

The block is a standard 1275 MG Metro turbo block and I will be running a megajolt set up and intercooler.

And the gearbox is standard at the moment.

I am looking into 2 parts, but not sure if they are worth buying or not?

I have have come across a T28 turbo, would this be suitable for the set-up and will it bolt onto my mirage manifold? Or will the T2/T25 hybrid turbo with 360 degrees thrust bearing I already have be better?

I also have come across a Minisport CA2 cam, would this be suitable for this set-up and I will be using MiniSport 1.5 full roller rockers as well?

All help is really appreciated.

Thanks

Bobby

Mate the Best Advice i can give you is Start a build page and then you can put all your questions in there; also its all in one place! its just good house keeping.

As for the stuff you are asking on here and as it's your first build, your'e not too sure what your doing so just buy parts that have been proven on lots of the cars on here.

I have started posting on Instagram also my name on there is turbomk1golf

Nothing is impossible it just costs more and takes longer.

T28 is way to big from my experience, the hybrid T2 will be a lot better.

T28 from what though ?

And style of camshaft depends on type of oil pump you intend to use.

speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

I am not to sure which car the turbo is off, but the oil pump will be a slot version of the metro turbo

Nissan 200's use a GT28 variant. But as with all turbos, there are many variants with similar names. I think some of the Rover turbo cars also use a similar turbo ?

im usign a standard t2, full 10psi of boost by 3.5k

Fantastic acceleration - use the T2 imo.

Im using a kent 266 cam, however most on here use an avonbar phase 2 turbo cam which is supposed to be the dogs danglies.

If/when I come to build again, I will deffinatly be using a gt1752 turbo and a ph2 cam

Megajolt is good *happy*
