STANDARD its 5/8 UNC whats the problem have you stripped it ?

I think he wants to add a oil temp sensor. I know he's just bought a digidash with 1/8npt oil temp sensor.

standard smiths water temp sender is 5/8unf, this screws directly into the adaptor, i have done this on my race car.
The sump thread is UNC
