Ello, I'm planning on running the RTS clutch, Just looking at the options, Ive done plenty of searching on it and can't find any mention of people using the Lightened Verto flywheel with two pressure plates. Safe?

Second question, if you were to lighten a standard flywheel, where do you remove metal?

I was pestering Joe about this the other day, he is using an RTS on an MED one, Robert was using one on a minispares one.

Joe said he hasn't encountered any problems, may be worth having a hunt on their threads?

as above either the MED or minispares one are fine, I went with the MED one as it was cheaper at the time,

the std one can be lightened a fair bit by machining the back off, both robert and matty have done this, but for the time it takes I'd go for one of the above.

Awsome cheers guys!

If you machine the back down i assume you just take it down flush with the inner bit?

Will the MS/MED ones still be lighter?

on the std one there are two casting indentations on the back, (I think one has the part no in) iirc you can take them down til this almost disapears, they still wont be as light as the MS/MED ones though....

the MED ones are 3.6kg, the minispares one 4kg, I think I got my std verto down to about 5kg, its about 6kg std

I'm running the MED verto flywheel but on a updated AP clutch.
I must say its a well machined piece of kit and is much lighter, can defiantly tell the difference over standard when driving. :)

What the mind can conceive the mini can achieve
MITP 2012 17.01 seconds 1/4 mile against "The Don"
MITP 2013 16.83 seconds 1/4 mile
