Hi i a new to the forums and am looking for a bit of advice to get started,

I have a mg metro 1275 fully rebuild back to standard spec mg metro and was thinking of supercharging it , i need it as a daily drive would this last in the long term . What sort of mileage before rebuild, what the fuel consumption like and what sort of power would i be looking at . or would the turbo be better to go for . Basically i am after a smaller amount of boost with the engine around 100bhp and torque for a daily drive is this possible and still able to get 40-50 thousand miles or so out of it .

Like anything 40-50k is possible depending how you abuse the car.

Most people report much better mpg from a turbo. I have met a person who had 45mpg from an ac Dodd tuned vmax kit. I'm around 25mpg! So not a choice for frugal driving!

Not sure if it would be better with the car on the other side of the charger

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

Northamptonshire.

Race it - low mpg
Cruise - High mpg

way you drive it

In my experience, mpg was always poor with my Vmax suck through. I never got much better than 25mpg, even with Sw5 Camshaft, 2.76 FD, HIF38.

Turbo is much better, in so many ways.
