It's been about 8 years since I took down my metro turbo lump to rebuild it. The process has been slow, and I've forgotten a LOT over the years, unfortunately, so I am looking to the collective wisdom of this site to help me...

Below, I've numbered bits in the picture and posted questions regarding those bits:

1) What is this for? It looks like an oil line of some sort (I seem to recall seeing it and still have it in a box somewhere), but I can't for the life of me figure out why it would run into the intake manifold. I can't find a good manifold drawing to help on this...

2) I believe that this is for warming the manifold for cold weather, and just want to confirm that I can cut this off and not use it (I live in California, USA, and it doesn't get that cold where I live)

3) What is this plate for?

4) What is this plate for?

Lastly, I want to get my motor set up for normally aspirated running in, then do the full turbo setup. What do I need to modify in my intake and such to go normally aspirated for a time, or should I look around for a NA intake, dizzy, and carb to get things sorted before doing the full conversion?

Thank you for any guidance!

1 vacuum takeoff for brake servo as standard can be used for boost or megajolt
2 water as you say to warm manifold yes can be cut
3 holds accelerator or choke cable in place
4 hooks onto carb heat shield

Wow, that was fast, wng691s! Thank you!

I'm assuming that the heat shield is to protect the carb from the turbo's heat, and I could remove it if I'm re-locating the turbo?

Ah, now I think I recall where I saw the banjo that attaches to the vacuum takeoff: It's on the T3 turbo! :) I should be able to just plug that and create a NA intake manifold, then, I believe.
