Hey,

can anyone recommend a company that will cut and fit a windscreen for a chopped mini. Its had 3" taken out. The screen that was in it leaked, so i had it taken out to refit with a new seal but it cracked when going back in. :(

I am in Shropshire at the moment but live in Portsmouth.

cheers,

John

I believe you can cut the old toughened screens. Not sure about the newer laminated ones.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Other way round John, as soon as you nick a toughened one the whole thnig turns to small square blocks of glass! Laminated you can cut, I have done so before with an angle grinder, you just need to don cowboy boots a big hat and shout YEE HAR while you do it.
I am sure Paul Wiginton is the man to ask.

Oops yeah, you right there Tom. I seem to remember my cousin's toughened screen exploding due to a stone chip.

Quick google says zenith windows?

National Windscreens can help...They have a specialist Glazing Department who cut flat lam and also reshape string/hitchin screens.

Call your local screen fitters (Autoglass, National Windscreens etc). See who can cut them for you. Cant remember which cut mine down but they said "We supply fitted screens, if it doesnt fit - we cut it down." It cost me £35 for a cut down fitted screen

I seriously doubt it!

Do side windows need to be E marked? My side glass was cyt from 4mm flat by a local glazing company and then toughened

I seriously doubt it!
