how is every1 rasing the boost im kinda confused how you guys are doing it, as the standard ecu is limited to 7psi, i understand that if u remove this and place a bleed valve it can be increased yes. but bleed valves aint exactly an accurate way to raise the boost. is it possible to use a boost controller to raise the boost on a metro turbo engine? if so how?
thanx

I think 99% of us use bleed valves, we don't have any problems

I've not really found that, on my bleed valve, about 1/4 turn is 1psi, so quite easy really

you need to use a good quality boost guage so you can see how much boost you are running, once youve set it a few times you soon gert used to it*smiley*

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

the sensitivity of boost via a bleed valve is all down to how much load there is on the acuator.

the higher the rating or more you have done it up the less you need to undo to raise the boost via this method.

on a standard 4 psi t3 actuator you can undo it all day and you will be lucky to get over 7-8 psi.

but wind the preload on the actuator a couple of turns then you will see that you need less turns of the bleed valve to gain a single psi.

if that all makes sense.

always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas

i think people hear horror stories about bleed valves from typically your old turbo 'hot hatch' motors because people keep opening them up, and opening them, and bingo BANGo your engine/turbo pops

stick with your bleed valve, or use a couple of the std metro boost solenoids to up your boost!!

can i adjust the boost up and down by using the bleed valve as from what sum1 has told me the fueling and timing would be one if i adjusted it up and down all the time?

The safest way is to get it setup on a rolling road to a sensible level depending on your engine spec.

Then use you right foot to contol how fast you go and not the bleed valve.

Unless you have a lambda sensor, how are you other wise going to tell if the engines running lean? Thats where the horror stories come from!

im gunna b using lamba sensor mate, just a friend of mine has a starlet turbo and he is able to have incar boosting and his fuel adjusts to the boost he runs
