Clio has just been mot'd advisory for all four tyres, now the rears have done over 23,000 and fronts 17,000. Its the first year i havent had to replace tyres mid year (normally have budgets so dont care) now with the clio i put premium tyres on the front, made driving alot nicer and felt alot safe too but the ware rate is rather quick.

What tyres do you guys use? When i replace i will have premium on the front and mid range on the rear if not budget, i want a good all round tyre, the low range that were on the car when i got it were damn right fucking dngerous in the wet with no feel in corners, i do not want this again but also dont really want to pay £130 a tyre.

I hope that made sence, i have only had a few hours sleep so not much brain wise is working today lol

I got 8-10000 a set in my BMW. It always wore them evenly front and rear which was a surprise. The Cupra is looking like 7000 for fronts but probably 12000 for rears.

Luckily they are free..

The route to my work are shit massivly pitted and full of pot holes wich i know wears them out alot quicker but also driving style has a huge impact. I do like the occasional traffic light rumble as does the misses.

Rears about 26k front still going strong after the same amount of Miles.

All on a 520d motorway miles.

I buy premium tyres and now only Bmw oem star rated, the car handles at its best and stops better. Yes the cost a bit more but not much over the life of the car ownership.

I run conti contacts

I keep this in mind: it's not your brakes that stop the car they only slow the wheel down.....

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

I normally get 30k plus from my commuter. Current tyres are Avon and have done 15k and still look new. The rears were on it when I got it and I have done 25k since then and they have loads of life left. The car is an MG ZR. I think my drive to work is quite tyre friendly though. Only a couple of roundabouts and it is always busy so not to much arsing around.

looking at it, I got about 23k from the fronts and 28k on the rears; running michelin pilot sports. Having just thought about it, i'm pretty happy with that although it is still a full set of boots a year. (A6 quattro). I'd be delighted if i was only paying £130 a corner

As for quality of tyres, i've found differing models prefer differing tyre specs. I recall loving P6000's on a peugeot 306 years ago however the father in law stuck them on his 320 and hated them.

As for fitting differing tyres front to back, some do however i'd much prefer to have a matching set all round myself

On another note, I borrowed a family members clio while the audi was in the body shop and at just under 20k, all 4 tyres were well worn

Somewhere around Swindon

15k fronts and 30ish k on the rears

Recently stopped buying premium Michelin's and put middle of the road yoko C drives on and they are better imo and £20 a corner cheaper

I have 7 roundabouts tight corners and some dualcarage way then tight offramp to a roundabout lol the pass side has worn more than the drivers side but also i found using renaults recomended pressures the tyres wear as under inflated on the rear fronts i have run at 34psi and the outers still wear more than the middle wtf is up with that? Renaults guide is 30at the front and 28 on the rear they look underinflated at that psi. I have been thinking about avons or falcons

my dad and i run michelin energy tyres reasonably priced last about 30-35k on the front and rear

ones on an avensis
ones a yaris
Both handle pretty well and pull up quite good and in icey conditions were pretty impressive for grip

Vauxhall Insignia Estate 60k (surprisingly!!!!!) rears, 28k fronts, Car currently on 86k with new shod on the front week before Christmas.

It all depends what sort of driving you do. I tend to do a lot of Motorway driving and averaging 30k / year

Believe it or not i had a car that did 50k on tyres and i only replaced them cause the tyres were aging, they still had plenty of tread, they were michelin's, only criticism were they werent particular great tyres and were terrible in the wet.

wow, some seriously low mileages there !

Ive 205/50x16 tyres on my Corsa/Combo van. I seem to get 50-60k from a set ( swapped F-R on occasion so all 4 go at once )

That's just Cheapos. Last set were Federal, current set are chinese Mohawks. Hankooks before that were probably a bit less miles, far more expensive and no difference in grip.
The Mohawks arent lasting quite as long, but that's been down to suspension/alignment problems.
Have about 35k on them though and most of the tyre still has very good tread. So should see 50+ assuming the inner edge doesnt wear down because of the suspension problem a while back.

My Mini was years ago, but I know the rear NCT2's I had been using lasted well over 60k. Fronts didnt last anywhere near as long lol

9.85 @ 145mph
202mph standing mile
speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

I dont think ive had a normal car to get that sort of miles out of a set of tyres.

Evo used to go through a full set every 18mths and the porsche rears only did 5k.

You lucky sods

My wife and her BMW cooper s works/paths were eating runflats ( or as i say Run Paths)at the fantastic rate of one corner every two months. Negligible wear if that helps? Soon changed to hankooks non run path and have never looked back, plus more comfort and grip.

My 72 T3 mini gets 10k ish with 007's on the front and 20k+ on the back.
