Lads as most of you know my engine has been smoking like a champion even though its hardly even done 400 miles.

So I measured by compressions and from the drivers side it read

1. 180psi
2. 120-130 psi
3. 0
4. 140psi

So I strip the head of to inpsect the pistons and the third one has a brave size of a chunk missing.

So this gets me thinking.......why is there so much psi across the range.......are these the wrong pistons?????

The number on the pistons is 21250-020-CXN, from looking on the internet this morning I know this is a 1275 piston with +0.20. Are these the right pistons for a turbo engine though??????/?

If these are, should I just replace the 1 piston or all 4?

Cheers in advance guys.

Paul.

As far as I can remember, the 21251 pistons are the worst. Then come these which are OKish. Then the 21253, are the better ones from AE. This does not include (O)mega. But, the dish might not be suitable for you application. This is only the build quality of the pistons.

The21251 have got a large drain slot which is not good for big boost. I'm not sure how the 21250 is made.

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.
