This is just the tip of the iceberg, with a planned worldwide financial collapse, my town looks like Aleppo in Syria, its all boarded up. Over the last few years and its getting worse.

Jeez pretty soon we'll all be limited to Tescos, Sainsburys, Amazon -- everyone else will be closed! And then Tescos/Sainsburys will start putting their prices up faster than inflation -- oh sorry, they do that already. OH and poor old Amazon makes no profits so has no taxes to pay honest!

HMM where a product of there own management. They didn't change their model and adapt to the way the world works now. Going bust is inevitable if you blindly carry on doing what you have always done.

I disagree with supermarkets being banks, insurers etc, but it seems like they are the only business left that are able to look at the world and provide what people want - convenience and low prices.

Its a sad situation really, i quite like popping out to shops however recently i have encountered to many "i could not give a fuck" store assistants.

Swindon has also got quite alote of shops closed and with 800 jobs going at Honda its looking really bleak here.

I don't see how this is the govenments fault. Their business model was flawed, nowt to do with global recession, just people not shopping there. Do we really want our taxes propping up shops just so we can buy a CD?

This might restore the independant music shops, which is only a good thing.

I thought this too, however I was never sure if the salespersons were not on some form of commision; if you buy online and simply collect, they don't have this additional cost which they have passed onto the customer?
