First mini turbo to get in the 12's & site perv

Herefordshire

You'll need to get a club involved who will confirm the age of the car from the engine/chassis no's and then get it inspected by the dvla, I think you may need to get it to a local office.

I believe as its tax free they will be quite strict on this and they are aware of the various differences that the car should have, thus if you are just trying to get back a tax free bog look the best of luck to you!

You'll need some form of original documentation as it won't be on the DVLA's data base since they went electronic in the 80's. An old tax disc or MOT certificate should be fine.

You can see if its on the database by typing the the reg number into the DVLA website to see its tax status. *wink*

Your first post post you the logbook is original logbook - do you mean you have an old style one for the car? If so just send that off.

As above, if you have some original documentation there is no problem.

However, I would definitely make sure you get a clear and good quality photocopy of any document before you send away the original to the DVLA.

As above- photocopy everything you send off, I did and needed it last time as DVLA lost it all! So I sent them the copies (made more!) and got all new docs through the post, then 2 weeks later the original ones must have gone through their system as got another lot through!

as nic says , its not as easy as it should be these days. Too.many ringgers etc. A friend of mine tried to tax his !!! Hed had the v5 in his name for a while whilst he restored the car then when hes come to tax it theve sent dvla officials out to inspect it !!, they came with a template for the mk1 rear window n various other bits to clarify that it was the original car as it had been off the road for so long .

I have recently used the V62. I bought a bike from a dealer and never received the V5. After 2 months waiting (and in the same time sending off and getting 2 other V5s for cars) I filled in the V62 and got the V5 back a few weeks later. All I had was the little green slip. I did scan it before sending it off though.
