Is it possible to change the diff pin with the engine in?

I had got my car on the road before I found this forum and did'nt know that this was such an important modification.

I would like to know how is best to do it and what is the best diff pin to buy!

I actually once managed to get the diff out with the engine still in the car..........by extracting the studs from the gearbox casing you can then get the diff housing off and then the diff out!!!!!

BUT it was an absolute ball ache, I would NOT attempt it again!

But with the A+ being held on with bolts, it's easier....

However, this would require the car to be jacked up, and the driveshafts withdrawn - by removing the hubs... Then the gearchange rod, then the diff side covers, then the diff housing, then the diff stripdown.

So, TOTALLY do-able, but you need to weigh up if it's worth it compared to pulling the motor.
