leeds/wakefield.

Men, women, childres, fellow countrymen, people of the baltics and those from the sub continents, and yuo Andy Bellamy, i need a favour ,

but be advised by offering information you will not autoomatically gian access to my inner circle, nor become my new best friend,[i have lots of these already], but you will be allowed to say you once helped me in my day of need, you will noly be allowed to dine out on this for 14 days then you resume your normal mundane role in life, if these rules are accepable move to the next stage ,lol

So having not had my hands on some standard drum brakes for years, i need to know if there is any clearance from behing the hub to any part of the shoe assembly,

in other words can i made some hubs that have more material on the rear without hitting anythnig and if so roughtly how much room do i have,

so who knowswhat?

cheers men

From memory there's not much room, the return springs run very close to the tapered external part of the rear hub and can rub sometimes on the standard dimensions.

The closest things are the springs and handbrake mech, then the bolt heads that hold it to the radius arm

Some pics here... As I'm using an stupid tablet I can't paste them direct.. So a random thread i have found...

I agree with Tom they can be close.

Do you want me to drop a radius arm into you?

I also have the most important piece of equipment you are missing from you workshop - a kettle.

The ones I have don't have cylinders or springs. Think I have some shoes throwing round.

My car has s.c. hubs in it, so no guarantee they are factory correct measurements with them.
