I'm surprised peeps say you have to have a Wide-Band to do it properly. You need to remember we're using a needle profile and a spring to control mixture, not a 16x16 table with 2decimal place injector durations! Even when i was running EFI, I found the narrow-band lambda more than good enough.

Something else to consider - and only peeps who've actually 'done a bit' will know what i mean here - Many of the wide-band controllers only come with a digital LCD readout of the value. Whilst this is great for tuning on a RR using EFI where you can hold the engine RPM with the rollers and tune each throttle position to the nth degree, the real world of SU's and 'home tuning' is different.
An analogue display is much more usefull. If you've ever used a digital DTI, you'll know exactly what I mean!
I will be buying this wide-band eventually - Note that it has an analogue and digital readout - all in a 52mm housing! Also note the price however :(
As I mentioned, I have tuned the mixture in my mini, which admittedly isn't the quickest out there, using a narrow-band on my own on the open road.
The only time it goes on a Rolling road is to have the ignition map tweaked. For the small amount of money I see these narrow-band units selling for, EVERYONE should have one fitted. If you want to spend 8* that amount on a wide-band unit, that's up to you, but as long as you're running an SU, I guarantee you won't see 8x the gains... If you've got the money to spare, then get one and you won't be dissapointed - but would that extra £300 be better spent towards a hybrid turbo, or hi-boost head? *wink**wink**wink**wink*

I've actually got a USA spec 4-wire Lambda on mine... I was told these are superior to the European 4-wire units, but I've never seen this information substantiated elsewhere.

I think you've got the right idea - but the kits usually come with a sensor don't they?

Isn't everything bigger and better in the US of A? That's a fact, why question it?
