hi all. i can almost start to rebuild my first mini (the one i bought 10 years ago which i am re shelling for 5 years now.) but i came to the point where the metal work comes to the end. however i would like to get the whole shifter inside the the car and i know its been done allot but cant find details... because i do not feel like drilling 20 holes in the new floor before i get it right i would like to ask if someone can tell me the correct detail of where to drill and how big?
you can do anything if you set your mind to it...

I placed a temporaraly gearbox assembly into the engine bay and subframe on the mountings and then installed a standard gear selector mechanism in the normal place. I then took a fat marker pen and marked either side of the rods starting from just below the steering rack mounting. I then used a 2" hole cutter and cut two slightly overlapping holes one above the other, without cutting into the spot weld flnge of the steering rack mounting.

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:
