Hi,

I have install a modified turbo Mini and a 4 speed evolution straight cut dog box from Jack Knight

Unfortunately Jack Knight don't answer on my email

The 1:1 ratio from the 4th gear is not long enough for drive long time on highway

I need a complet 6 speed straight cut dog box gearboxes with a ratio closer to 0.804 for the 6th gears (or 5 speed)

Did you have some supplier adress where I can find this type of geaboxes

Thank you

Dany

No one currently manufactures a 6 speed box, and there were only maybe two who did, Jack Knight and Tran-X, but I'm sure KAD have been there and done that as well.

Expect to pay around £6000 for one though.

do you really want to use one of these on the road?!........

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Just change the FD.

If its a turbo engine, it'll likely smash it to bits anyway.

In the 13's at last!.. Just

Yes i use a 2.9.with 13 inch rims. plenty of top end there, a bit slow off the mark with the sc close ratio set i have. But the tall fd holds the car in the power band ie 3-5k for longer, and it pulls nicely with the torque the turbo gives in this power band. In all it flies when its got going with plenty of top end plis can be driven on the motorway at 70 plus without the turbo kicking in (t3)

Hi,
Thank you for all your answer
I have a JKD 3.466 LSD type final drive, transfert gear 1.000 ratio
I'm satisfied with the acceleration of the current configuration and I don't want to loose it
Wath I wanted more is to drive with less rpm on long distance

If your stuck with the final drive then you could go for some over driven drop gears to make it effectively a 3.1:1, loss of acceleration could be offset with a little more boost *evil*

Can these be fitted with a standard crown wheel or are you limited by the LSD?

As it happens a 4th gear or 0.804 and a 3.44 diff is the same as a 1:1 4th and 2.7 diff.

I run a 4-speed box and a 2.9 FD with 13" wheels. 80mph is 4000rpm and the gears don't feel long at all. I concede that you wont get a 2.9 CW on an LSD though.

Minispares built a 5 or 6 speed box that I think is sold through a third party. It's ultra strong and will take lots of power. Not sure of the ratios. But phone minispares north and ask, they'll point you in the right direction.

I've got a 6 speed Jack Knight Dog Box with only 2000 Road Miles on it (no competition use) that I may sell at the right price.
