Hello Everybody,

We would like to ask you a bit of help on a Mini Turbo project.

We have some trouble with our set up ... at least we hope
that it's just about this. We monted a fix compressor of a
Clio dCi saying we don't need too much pressure. We think to
load about 0,5-0,6 bar.

The problem is that the engine is running normally as long
we don't have the turbo pressure. At that moment it stall,
like if it doesn't have enough fuel. We checked already
almost all advice about conversion, so a regulator is
mounted, it is set to put 3-4 psi more than the turbo
pressure. We have a normal HIF44 carb, the "fuel out" is
also closed, but still it doesn't work.

We would like to ask you if you have any idea about the
solution of this problem which we didn't take in
consideration ... or simply forgot.

Thank you for your help in advance,
Richard and Attila

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

HI ric and welcome buddy*happy*

the fuel pressure set 3 to 4 psi above boost
thats set fine

you say you are running a N/A carb ?

if so this needs modding for the boost
also you could have a internal fault on the carb and the T peice trick could sort this?

there are a few links below for you, which was finley wrote by

Thanks Ben!

But my turbo system a little bit different from your system, and I don't find where is the problem.

I send some picture my turbo.

Can anybody help me what is the problem with it?

You can't use that as a plenum. You need a restrictor ring between the plenum and carb mouth in order to pressurise the float chamber, the air above the dashpot, and to rise the fuel presure at the regulator...

"We have a normal HIF44 carb, the "fuel out" is
also closed"

^^ this would need to see boost, idealy before the restrictor in the plenum so it see's slightly more boost than the throat of the carb.

That regulator also isn't a 'rising rate' I suspect

I'd go with Dave on this one. No restrictor ring.

Also is the plenum allowing the float bowl to be pressuresed. Tis is achieved through the two holes in the carb where the plenum mounts. It's a common problem that these get blocked up.

THATS ALSO ONLY THE CASE IF YOU HAVE GOT THE RELAY WIRED UP AS IN THE METRO.

AS THE GUY WITH THE PROBLEM HAS A CONVERTED MINI THEN ITS UNLIKELY HE HAS GOT THE METRO WIRING, BUT IF HE HAS, HE WILL KNOW HOW IT WORKS AS HE WILL HAVE PUT IT THERE HIMSELF

NO NEED TO SHOUT EITHER

I send pictures from the turbo oil pressure switch.

http://img.tar.hu/riccs1/size2/13422990.jpg

And I made a restrictor ring (37mm) ahead the carb mounts.
