Hi all,

Firstly want to appologise for this random, non mini related question.

This is a just a quick question on Camera's, basically I am flying away to Mauritius in May with my wife for my Honeymoon and I am on a hunt for a good camera and my budget is £100. I will only be using this on holiday and just a few pics here and there, I am no photgrapher, so nothing special but want a good one as well.

So if anyone can please give me any advise in what camera would be good for this sort of money.

I would appriciate it a lot.

Cheers

Bobby

I've got a panasonic Lumix DMC-FS16 that I use for work - had it for 18 months or so now. I'm no photographer but it does everything i want it to do.

it takes a load of abuse - I spend a lot of time in wet and dirty places, however seems to take it well. 14megapixels etc.

Somewhere around Swindon

get a bridge camera they have better lenses and sensors than compacts

Lumix, nikon and fuji make very good bridge cameras

Personally i would handle one before buying as they are all differnt sizes and weights

I agree with Wolfie about investing in a "bridge" camera.

I'm a total amateur when it comes to photography but I've been using a Fuji S2950 for the last 18 months - superb.

14Mpix and all the other stuff and an enourmous lense with massive optical zoom (for the price range).

The latest model is an S2980 which is within your budget but you will have to add decent batteries/charger and SD card and carry case (to keep it safe) (unless you already have them).

The thing I really like about the Fuji is it has a "conventional" viewfinder (really just a tiny LCD display inside a viewfinder type eyepiece) which means you can use it in bright sunlight instead of trying to peer at the big LCD on the back which is washed out in bright light.

At the time I bought mine, only Fuji did this in the price range you're looking at (but that maybe different now).

The wife and I had a Nikon cool pix job for our honeymoon, no proper viewfinder but is perfect for straightforward photos.
