come to a bit of a problem, could be me being stupid and forgetting something.

Took engine out of mini (A + 998) to paint and bolt turbo on, also replaced head gasket and put trigger wheel on for megajolt, so undone bottom pulley.

I have now put engine back in and I cant turn it over at all. Have tried pushing in gear and jacking and turning wheel, also using the crank bolt. engine was out for 2 months or so, covered the whole time. It did turn over using the the crank pulley about 2 weeks ago when i fitted the trigger wheel.

Any one got any ideas as to why it wont turn over at all?

thanks Sam

Have you replaced the engine mounts? If you put longer bolts in the mount it can lock the flywheel.

Whos trigger wheel have you used? Some require modification of the radiator bracket to get clearance.

In the garage......again!!

you could have put the wrong bolts in the flywheel housing holding the coil on, these will lock the flywheel if they are too long.

The other one, not yet mentioned, and easier to check first (before engine mount bolts anyway) is clutch slave cylinder (or mounting plate if verto).

These are the same thread as the starter motor bolts (so easy to muddle up if the engine is out) but the starter ones are just slightly longer and will lock the flywheel if used on the slave cylinder.

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

Obviously done at least once by you then! Personally I've never done it.
