just a quicky really. if you guys were running my engine what sort of boost would you put through it? I've got it setup at 12psi at the minute but i'm wondering if it could take more and still manage 4k a year? dont need it as everyday car anymore as i've just sorted out a 216 grandad beast :)

the engines:
1293, 21253 pistons, std crank, grey, rally plate, SCCR box, 4pin diff, s/c drops, 29cc head, 8:1 CR, ph2 cam, cossie IC. running on a normal T3 setup.

you reckon it'd take 15psi ok?

Nick :)

i reckon 15psi sounds fine, if not more. but yeah 15 sounds about right when you want it, maybe id set it up at 10psi then have a solenoid to switch it to 15psi when i wanted to.

how much further back you reckon i should knock the timing? its at 12 degrees at the minute at 1k with the vac disconnected.

you reckon 8 will be safe enough?

Set it at 5k, 25 degrees max advance, thats the best way to make sure its spot on *smiley*

also make sure that the pointer (if your using it) is in the correct position as they can be a long way out!

stowmaket suffolk

you should be able to run at least 17psi no probs, but set up timing on the rollers with some det cans if possible.

miniwilliams covers about 6000miles with no probs.

always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas

cool, thats the figure i was after iain, will get it sorted and up the boost next time i'm at the rollers. hopefully before showdown so i can run the 15psi :)

will only be running 10 psi day to day but i'll wire up a solenoid or something for track use or chav baiting :)

Or just use plain ear defenders... Once you lower the baseline noise level, detonation is easy to pick out!
