Anyone know the pressure rating on 22mm tubing and soldered joints and pressure rating on the compression joints?

Cheers in advance

I have designed a few water heating units using soldered joints. Usually max working pressure of 10 barg. Normal water pressure can get up to 50-100psi.

Hope this helps

What you planning on using it for? And it obviously depends if its a swaged compression joint and how tight you have put it on but if its for high pressure solder or braise it, I have seen a 54mm compression cap end blow off at ten bar and if it hit any one it would hav killed them luckily it didn't

What is it you are trying to do? Steel compression fittings are out there for hydraulics, good for 200bar or more.

Just a quick search on google showed semi hard 22mm copper pipe with a 3mm wall will withstand 51bar (740 psi)

And cones them selves say a maximum working pressure for there fittings is 16bar at 30degrees

Google's wrong then.

I have never seen 22mm copper with 3mm wall, and if there is such a thing its pressure rating would be higher than 51 bar!

close lol

as some of you may know i have a selection of home built air rifles this time i am going to build a 6mm smooth bore ( bb gun) with an auto cycling pneumatic bolt, i have been designing this for years but never managed to get it to load properly due to the solenoid air valves i was controlling it with
well i have come across a new ( to me) valve that can simplify the whole process to 1 control valve and a storage chamber

to cut a long and boring story short im just looking up cheap and fast options for the chamber but i dont think it will hold up to the pressures i will hopefully be trying it at *happy*

something like this ( the way it fires not looks )

Is actual internal bore critical ?

Plenty of CDS/cage type tube available on egay in various diameters inside and out, and various wall thickness'

The imperial stuff seems to have thicker walls available.

bore is not critical once above 10mm ish but... i think im just going to adapt an 88g co2 cartridge there are good for 1000psi easy i will be running regulated co2 on this i think so likely not to see more than 200psi in operation

man i wish i had a lathe *happy*

it is basically that, much larger valve and a 24 inch barrel all steel and ally, whisper quiet and can group pellets on top of each other @ 25m :) my local range has not long since shut down so dont get to play at longer ranges much anymore

BSA r10, sounds like what my dad has

the mortar sounds good :)

Oops. Pistons are legal fortunately. Pistols are not lol

Biggest legal thing here without a license is a mechanical BB gun ! and even then, carrying a pistol could get awkward.

get some of that CDS tube, there are loads of diameters and it would be more than up to the task
