Athens Greece

Hi to all,
My name is John and aim in Athens Greece, I have a 1977 mini with a 1293cc engine spec bellow:
Big valve stage 3 head, 276 cam with 1,5 rockers, aldon yellow points dizzy without vacuum, aldon flame thrower coil, twin hs6 carbs with trumpets, belt drive, 3,1 final drive. The car is used mainly on weekends for some fun driving and some longish trips 300km.

I believe that I have set the fuel mixture quite well but I think I can improve on the ignition side of things, I am thinking about:
1. Ignitor kit or similar instead of points?
2. Msd ignition box cdi and keep my dizzy?
3. Megajolt?
4. Aldon amethyst?
5. Send my dizzy to Ac Dodd or H&H for a recurve?
I know this forum is mainly for turbocharged engines but I trust your opinions way more than the other forums. I would like to improve idling as is quite lumpy and response of the engine going up the revs.
So what do you guys think is the best option for me considering that there are no rolling roads here in Greece familiar with su carb and points distributor.
Sorry about the long post, thanks in advance
John

Thanks for the answers guys, i agree that megajolt is the best option, my only consideration is that I will have to make the map myself as I do not trust rolling roads here in Athens making a map for a classic engine. That is why I was considering the other options.
Another question what exactly do I need for the megajolt to work on my car?
Is the trigger wheel a series kit complete?
Cheers John

Cleethorpes

you would require edis, coil pack, 36-1 trigger wheel, megajolt, vr sensor. there are lots of maps on the site

Done now needs redoing lol

If you have a timing light, and can check at various rpm's what timing your current setup offers. Worst case scenario you can chuck a map together on the Megajolt to replicate that

But really, you would need a dyno to optimise timing

9.85 @ 145mph
202mph standing mile
speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

That's exactly my thoughts that is why I was considering other plug and play options like msd, because acces to a rolling road is difficult and I do not trust them to make a map for my mini as they do not have any experience on classic engines.
Thanks again for the replies guys.

Hi there I am convinced that Megajolt is the best option, where can I buy one?
Anyone has one for sale the hole kit or just the unit and willing to post to Greece.
Cheers John.
