Waiting to see if a concise answer as to how to undertake this (and it being easier than pulling the engine) actually will appear! On 17th Nov, 2014 Tom Fenton said:

It takes an hour and a half at worst to get a min engine and gearbox out, maybe 2 if its a turbo... few more pipes in awkward places. why leave the gearbox in?? Christ it would cost more in gaskets than its worth LOL.

Next time it comes out im gonna invest in a hoist though-far easier. Matty - Clearly you are cleverer than others because I really can't figure out how you'd physically do it... On 17th Nov, 2014 Tom Fenton said:

I cant see how you could do this. Why go to all the effort to struggle when its easier to remove both engine and box???? |

im still an apprentice and i'd prefer to put the money into my car than spend loads of money on a hoist.

i cant see the point of leaving the box in as the time you have fart assed around trying to get all them bolts out the engine would have been stting out side the car and stripped in the same time. always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas |
