As above, I'm hopefully soon going to get my engine acid washed then de glaze the bores.

It's relatively straight forward if you have the correct tools to do it. On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:
i tried putting soap on it , and heating it to brown , then slathered my new lube on it

you need to pull them in with some bearing pullers.

I had the machine shop do mine and then they honed them to size so I had to provide the cam at the same time. I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

You cannot hone cam bearings. Scraped possibly. On 13th Jul, 2012 Ben H said:
Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem. |

V that's what they told me and they defo have had some work as the finish is different. I will get some pics tomorrow. I was shocked as I had read that you can just fit the new ones, install the cam and remove the high spots.

They well be line honing the block for size and straightness to give correct bearing fit and cam straight alignment. There are some engines that require a bearing hone to size as the bearings surfaces are made oversize. Google hone cam bearings. Some interesting stuff about this (as usual). |

What a can of worms I've opened here. Time to speak to an engine builder me thinks. BHP sells engines, but Torque wins races! |

Nice home made bearing puller Joe ! My Dad made an identical one when he was an apprentice in the 60's, I've used it loads & it's spot on. |
