Hi everyone,

I will install a 123 Ignition Tune to my ERA Turbo soon and started to build a curve.

What do you guys think?

Its for standart engine, +20 pistons, std compression, ported head, 2" Bastuck Exhaust.

Thanks

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

megajolt would be much better, if you havent already bought the 123 set up i would highley recommend megajolt MAP version

that 123 ignition doesent sense boost,
having looked at it its a little advanced
i would not be going over 28 degrees max advance with your standard compression and no intercooler

Steve, it does sense boost. It's a bit confusing, but you use the manifold pressure to subtract advance.

I would say -18 is a little too much as it results in 16 ded advance right? Or is there another multiplier that I'm missing. i.e. do you add the static advance angle (8 degrees?)

If so, 24 deg on boost look good to me. But I'd be tempted to run more advance around 3 to 4 k for cruising and minus it off for boost.

Hi,

the 123 Tune senses Boost! And I don´t want a MJ because the 123 looks more original and I don´t need a Trigger Wheel and all the other parts.

No, there isn´t any other multiplier and I don´t add static timing. The 123 is static timed at 0°.

So, less boost retard above 4K and more advance between 3-4K with more boost retard?

Thanks for input!

When I looked at using a similar system I found it useful to use excel to generate a 'map' in the more classic sense.

This is what I came up with

As you can se it lets you understand how changing one parameter affets the whole map (or one line of it at least). What I found was that you couldn't really make it do anywhere nere as much as a true mapped ignition. But I understand why you choes it.

You'll also see that I didn't subtract the degrees, rather add it. But if you think about it you can do it either way, but this suited my head better.

I can email you the spreadsheet if it's any use. But it's pretty simple to make.

Hi,

what does the multiplier change? And is 1 bar atmospheric pressure?

I need some help to understand the "classic map", as i now used to the 123 format.

But thanks you for your input!

yes 1bar atmospheric.

Multiplier is the number in your advance/retard tune column next to the manifold pressure. Probably would have made more sense to put the columns next to each other. But after I did this I dismissed the idea of using the system so never bothered to make it nice.

Basically it shows the advance relative to manifold pressure and rpm, which you can't readily see from the input sheet you have linked to.
