depends on exactly what it is, but you can expect a few hundred for an ok one and upwards of 500 for a good on on original bores.

I sold a thick flange cooper s block on +20 bores, original deck height, but with no mains caps for £200 about 4 years ago.

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:

That's a LOT of money for a block that's already at 74.4mm !!
Metric is for people who can't do fractions. |

why dosent any one make a NEW block same as factory if not better? i dont understand i mean i like minis over vw s but hell minis are EXPENCIVE! vw s are cheep because of the desing they are like a mecano set crude but efective! say you blow a piston out for what ever reson its just a case of pulling the head off one side pulling the bore and piston out thats fooked replaceing them head back on provided no damage off you go its crude but it works not ragig on minis but vw s are wicked for a quick fix they just dont die easy gone way off whay im trying to say why dosent anyone make a new block in eather standard bore or a much thicker bore wall so as to get a 2L motor? at the end of the day "there is no substude for capastiy" sure its expencive to make them but with the number of ppl wanting a brand new block im sure the cost will drop fast.. |

Originality I'd say, the only reason people hunt for them is originality or possibly race regulations, an aftermarket casting is not original! Edited by minimole23 on 16th Mar, 2013. On 7th Oct, 2010 5haneJ said:
