Hi,

I am after a deep sounding muffler for my SPI that I am supercharging. Preferably a 2 - 2 1/2 inch in stainless steel.
Can anyone recommend one that has a deep sound?

The following you tube clips are examples of the sound I am after but not sure what brand they are or where to get it.

Cheers,

Playmini large bore. The Fletcher system is similar.

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Just to point out, since the topic has been tainted, those of us other than Brett *tongue* are talking about the large bore side exit Playmini back box, which sounds, looks and functions awsome *happy* unlike the monstrosity that Barry Boy Brett bought. It was so good he had to repeat himself *hehe!*

Thanks all, I am currently running a 2" straight through to a sportex muffler an it isn't deep at all. In fact it almost sounds like a lawn mower.

Keep the opinions coming.
Thanks

no im sorry but the info he gave and the videos he has linked to i dont see how your info is any better than mine?
he has linked to the style and sound he wants and also the size is in there too,

i simply said what i had, what it sounded like and the fact i had to bin it when any serious amount of power was mate
and video 3 looks suspiciously like the one i had

ill put the barryboy coment down to personal opinion and it was simply the cheapest back box i could get when i first rebuilt the car back in 2005

i bend and make them myself from stainless steel. so that way i end up with a different sound and style every 4 months. from deep growl to hi tone.

you can do anything if you set your mind to it...
i rather blow it up winning than keep it together losing.

finish date set for project 1... march 2018

the best note i ever had on a N/A mini camed up was a sprite mk1 backbox just fitted on the end........... it sounded like a honda 750 4 into 1 from the 1970s

sounded like this exactley *happy* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKiUI2lSy4E

Do you have an photos of your internal muffler that has the deep note? Or do you remember the specs on it?
I am considering making mine too but not sure what the spec of the inside needs to be to get a deep note.
Ie, diameter of the muffler, size of perforated pipe with 1 or 2 chambers at a measurement of??? Etc, etc
