Gents

As title, has anyone got either Autodata or a Haynes manual?

I've a bottom pulley to replace on a Mondeo, I'm after finding out the torque for the 3 bolts that hold the damper/pulley onto the end of the crank? Don't really want to fork out for a manual for 1 torque setting!

I've got Autodata at home, pop me a PM with the car year/engine size and I'll let you know when I get home.

Tom,

Please, please, please don't tell me you have bought one of these pieces of ****

Please just say you are helping out someone unfortunate enough to have done so....

(mine is in pieces yet again).

From my very well used pirate copy DVD of the Ford TIS manual, 30Nm then an additional 95 degrees

But make sure the bolts have only been used three times.... (well that's what it says....).

And make sure you use all the special tools mentioned or you will die a long slow death....

Thanks Gents, Rod no don't worry I haven't bought one, it is a customer of mine, but I agree a bit crap, it needs the lower pulley, all the aux belt rollers, and all 4 rear subframe bushes, on a 07 reg car thats driven gently and has covered 60k miles, pretty poor really.

Sorry to disagree with Rod on this but according to my Etis, it says:

CAUTION: Crankshaft pulley retaining bolts must only be used three times.

NOTE: Stamp the crankshaft pulley retaining bolt heads with a center punch to indicate usage.
Using the special tool, install the crankshaft pulley.
Tighten the bolts in two stages.
Stage 1: 45 Nm.
Stage 2: 120 degrees.

That is for a 2.0/2.2 Duratorq engine

Interesting,

I've just double checked in I'm in TIS, section 303-01E: ENGINE - 2.0L DURATORQ-DI/TDDI (PUMA) DIESEL/2.0L DURATORQ TDCI (PUMA) DIESEL.

So the section I'm using only covers the 2.0L TDCi (I don't think there was a 2.2L when this version of the TIS was issued).

All the other text you quote is identical but mine definately says 30Nm, 95 degrees.

Maybe the later cars are different (I acquired this copy for my 2003) so sorry if I've misled you Tom.

Thanks gents, I'll probably put some loctite on them and aim for something in the middle of the two! It is a 2.2 in a "ST" TDCi Mondeo.

Tom,

I'd go for Amp's figures.

My TIS is only for the 2.0 and, thinking again, I seem to remember there was an engine re-design around 2006 which is probably when they added the 2.2 option.

King Gaycharger, butt plug dealer, Sheldon Cooper and a BAC but generally a niceish fella if you dont mind a northerner

Rotherham, South Yorkshire

I would go for locktite and just tight enough to slightly damage the bolt heads so that the next person to do this work is fooked.

Dunno if I'd believe an eBay ad though?
