Impressed you got this all together, and working well. Be good to see some in car footage at Blyton.

Some of it is a bit Heath Robinson at the moment to get it done. Don’t be to impressed haha. There was quite a few moments where I thought it wouldn’t happen. Loads of stupid things out my control. MED held me back the most, was not impressed, waited I think 4-5 weeks for a crank that didn’t exsist lol.

I’ll bring the GoPro, I’m useless at setting it up so don’t expect much!

I haven’t pushed it enough to say yet. It’s given it some more torque steer (it didn’t really have any before) but definately gets the power down better. Although the extra power will be adding to the torque steer I imagine.

Using a cometic dry deck gasket from MED, head and block are plugged. Went for the dry deck as I figured it would be better to have the extra gasket integrity.

Don’t use anything with fire rings! It needed quite the skim to sort that. I think An af460 on bk450 was used on it. Had pressed in between 2-3 quite a lot.

I have not updated this for a while.

I have not actually used the car much this year. held back from last years 12 trackdays! managed to get to MK1 Action day, Goodwood RR gathering, Castle Combe mini day and a last chance trip to Rockingham. Cars performed really well overall.
Couple of little niggles to sort out. Seems to have started to overboost a little and the dump valve is a little slow.

Got some quite big plans to get done over winter, will see in due course!

In the meantime i've dropped a few Kg's here and there.

Worked with a friend to produce these, PM me if you want a set.

Pretty good saving over a lightenned standard set.

CK engine steady decided it would give up.

With the spreaders etc it was actually pretty heavy.

Managed to get it down a bit with some Ti spreaders, bolts and a bit from Owens fab.

Looks a bit better to imo

Made some CF door striker plates

Replacing these

Changed the ARB mounting bolts

Not much dropped out but they look a lot neater

This was a fun one

Could do with a tidy up but want to check they won't fall to bits first!

So 1.125 kg with that effort, not massive but seems worth it.

Also finally got round in finshing of my column

My gearlinkage has been slowly parting ways with the body so i got one of these and am going to get some mounts done of the cage centre tube, should help me find some gears easier.

Managed to pick up another Tillett seat for the passenger side, this is an old B6 and comes in at 4.6kg with the pads on, current seat is 8.7kg.

As this one is base mounted and doesn't line up with the current holes i'm changing the seat mounts to accommodate it. Will be going tubular and somewhat lighter. Sticking with MSA regs at 25mm tube etc. Probably going to chop the drivers ones out to seeing as these are pretty bulky! Hopefully 5kg saving.

Good effort, it's nice to see you're still plugging away. How's the 7 port going ?

It's a never ending project haha.

I'm really liking it. I do want to make it a bit easier to work around. Its pretty cramped in my car. Be nice to be able to get to the plugs without having to rip it to bits! hopefully that will come this winter with a few changes.
Plan to get a better flowing IC and exhaust manifold which should free up some more power.

Got a bit more weight out :).

Was using slightly turned down minifins

Have now fully turned down a set to remove the rear lip part.

Took a bit off a new set of cylinders

Standard rear backplate adjuster and cylinders

DSN backplates turned down to match drum diameter with everything lightened, Ti fixings etc.

Back plate to rear arm bolts

Ti version

Standard rear shoe weight

Trimmed down a little

Grease caps swapped to ally

Handbrake pins standard

Ti version lightened a little further by drilling them out

Inner quadrants of force racing beam

Lightened the quadrants and used a Ti fixing

Rear protech coilover damper pins and spacers

Replaced with Ti bolts

ARB bracket

Not much, I might make these in Ti in the future

All that is 2.4kg :).

Doesn’t the lip on the brake drums add a lot of strength?

Thanks fellas.

Graham I thought so to. But most racers take it off. KAD also sell them like it now. https://kentautodevelopments.com/products/k...lloy-rear-drums

I get what your saying, does the max pic not show a different colour material, maybe a steel ring as part of the drum insert maybe?

No, slightly hard to explain. If you look at my original drum (pre turned down) photo the last inner lip is what you can see in KAD's photo. You can't see it on my photo but its there. You wouldn't want to take them all they way down to that, would get quite thin.

Have made some new handbrake levers. It is taking quite a bit of time to go through all these bits. Am getting there though.

Also made the rear ARB blades in Ti

482g saved with those.
