Just wondering if anyone knows the thread of the threaded hole in these alternators. I've just tried an m8 bolt which semi goes in but felt tight after a turn or two. I was just wondering if it was an unusual pitch or something.

Also on the same subject the size of the bolt that the bottom side bracket usually bolts to on the timing back plate. And does this come out?

Cheers

Ok I'll just wind in in with a spanner then instead of by hand.
