Hi,

I've got a 2000 1275 MPI, with a stage 1 kit, MED Road Competition head and MED roller tip rockers fitted. If everything goes according to plan i shall be adding a re-mappable ECU and SW5 cam ASAP, but i was wondering for future reference if it is possible to turbo charge the MPI mini, or will it just be a case of spending so much money trying to get it to work that it simply isnt worth the time, money and effort?

All opinions welcomed and im sorry if this is a stupid question but im not the most mechanically minded person in the world.

Cheers

Fuel injecting an A-series is an absolute nightmare. I've tried two different systems, and neither work.
To fully understand why the A is so hard to inject, check this link:

You may well be swayed by what HoneyCrock / MiniSpeed tell you about their fantastic injection system, but it WILL NOT properly inject an A-Series. ONLY the MBE injection kit will.

The turbo has another real issue with injection - for 1 bar of boost, you effectivly double the fuel value, hence you need HUGE injectors if you want big power.

I'd say leave yours alone, and make a turbo mini in the future...

Fair enough, if that's the case then i think i will just settle for a well tuned NA engine rather than a forced induction.
I anticipated that that may well be the case.

Cheers for the info anyway.
