a bit of a reality check going on with the cars at the moment. The toy fleet currently consists of the turbo, clubby estate, 60 woody and the metro. The reality is that I can't really justify keeping all of them long term. While I can store them all, I'd rather have 2 or 3 cars on the road as opposed to 4 projects! The clubby is away getting some body resto at the moment and the thought of squeezing it back into the shed when it returns is a thought.

Now the turbo was my wifes first car so has setimental value in the house, The woody is a keeper and the metro takes me back to my youth. This leaves the clubby estate.

Now the estate was the track toy but it has, to an extent, been replaced by the metro. I did have plans to take it back to a road car so it could be used for family fun at the weekends but eventually the woody will replace this role. The car does have a good story behind it (we bought it spur of the moment at Avon in 1998 from a local trader for £100 and drove it back up to Glasgow - was a long day!) It even ended up on local TV with Keith Timpson at the wheel! My thoughts are that a bit of cash injection would be good to help fund the other projects and free up some space in the shed, but again, these are getting rarer and more desirable and I'm not sure I wouldn't regret selling in a few years.

So, I suppose the question is, do I sell the clubby estate or not?

Realistically, are you going to use it once it's sorted out? You'll have the turbo on the road. I could see it just sitting there for a few more years...

Yep deffo time to cut down on the number of cars.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

possibly would use it as it would be a full 4 seater; the turbo is only a 2 seater so no good for the family runs. Having said that, I've precious little time for days out!

the other estate is a long way off being on the road as it needs a full resto - reality check there would be 5 yrs?

mmm, almost convincing myself to keep it

My thoughts would be get the turbo done 1st, then get the estate on the road (perhaps have a little fun in it) then punt it on which should give you a nice cash injection to get either the Metro going or make a start on the woody.

From the sounds on things the Metro will be a quicker project so perhaps do that first then you can concentrate on the woody for the next 10 years! lol.

This is why I sold my blue clubman. Then I got distracted with the upside down skip and the mini still isn't done...

Herefordshire

I've also reached this point in life. I'm currently trying to avoid selling anything but I know in my head and heart its the right thing to do.

(The turbo isn't going anywhere though)

Nic owns most of the minis in Herefordshire I think!
