Right, I've run out of ideas.

I've had a fair bit of play on the front drivers side wheel. It has a fair wibble at around 45 deg (from the bottom of the heel board to the headlamp). None of the ballpoints show play. It looks to be twisting on the track rod.

What I've done so far, with no improvement...
- Changed steering rack (imagine how pissed off I was to find the play still there after that shit job!)
- Changed CV as this felt to me like it had play. The new one from Minispares had the same movement.
- changed driveshaft as the old outer CV clip twisted and got stuck.
- New track rod ends - longer type.
- Reshimmed both ball joints. These are perfect.
- Checked wheel bearing. Timken, less than 1000 miles old, has no play.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Can you see the part that's moving? Is it just the wheel, just the drive flange, the whole hub assembly or the whole suspension?

Tie rod bushes?

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

Typical. 1 min after posting I find it... Steering arm was somehow loose. The lock tabs were in place and secure.

Hmm?..

Glad you seem to have sussed it.

In the past, i've had similar issues with a knackered top arm bush

Dowels seem intact and in good order. The hubs were new from minisport not long ago. I wonder if the dowels were sat on a high spot in the casting and have gradually seated properly? I don't know, but its fixed by tightening two bolts :/

Wish I'd found this a steering rack and CV Joint ago!
