mild steel strips aprox 2mmx7-10mm for bonnet stiffening?

i plan on sorting my bonnet out in the next fewweeks. it has kinked a little along the edges in the past, i want to sort out the small dents and ripples that this has left. i plan to fil these etc to eliminate them.

however im worried about the bonnet flexing and cracking again. i planned to weld some metal strips along the inside of the lip to stiffen it up a bit - i was hoping to use strips aprox 2mmx7-10m.

does anyone know where i might be able to get metal to this spec?

hopefully online as i dont really have time to go to local metal places asking for them. plus
i would only need around 2 metres.

Has the bonnet kinked just in front of the hinges? If so, i'd just reinforce this area. 2m seems a bit excessive. I'd just raid the scrap bin for something about 100-150 long

hi rob. hope all is good with you. yes its kinked in front of the hinges, on the 'flat' part of the bonnet, as well as towards the curve at the front. i wouldnt use 2 full metres i doublt, would give me a bit to play with. cheers, dan
