looking at importing a wakeboard and a few other odds and sods from the good old usa as they are soooooo much cheaper over there, postage is no problems, but does anyone know what i wil get stung for in the way of import duty, vat etc? i have doine a really quick search, but havent been able to find anyting conclusive..... And on the 7th day........... God created turbochargers! |

i had some autometer gauges sent from the states i paid duty to the couriers when it arrived

my mates had a fair bit of trick stuff for his honda come from the states and has managed to get away with paying any duty. pretty sure you can get away with it if it's marked as a gift or under something like £30. On 20th Oct, 2015 Tom Fenton said:

Doesn't make any difference if it's a gift or merchandise. Over £30 and you will get clobbered by customs.

Like Bud said, I purchased a lot of things from the states and japan, and have only ever been taxed once.. I think it is the luck of the draw really, I bought a set of strut braces for over £100 and didnt get done... You can get a real bargain, like Andy said, just allow for it just in case you do get robbed.. I mean taxed.. |
