Is there any advantages of running a 2 or 4 blade fan over the standard plastic one?

mini currenlty is fitted with a alloy radiator and plastic fan.

Fairly sure the plastic one is the best one to have!

Depends what you want really. The theory is that the fewer blades are more efficient at high revs. Whereas at high revs the 11 blade fan does not do much but sap power. However at low speed and in traffic on a hot day the 11 blade is the one to have.

My preference is to have no mechanical fan and then a thermostatically controlled electric fan fitted, just like normal cars.

lee i had the 4 blade fan (for sale) and it worked great with my 2 core rad from minispares. however if you stand in traffic for a long time it crept up to 90degrees from 74. you can have a go with mine if you like then pay me if it works for you *wink*
