Seems to be putting the suspension load into what looks not like massively stiff area of the frame to me....

Rather irrelevant but here goes, the first generation of Z cars front subframes for rear engined cars had the rocker arms and shocks mounted 90 degree's around inwards so the ends of the shocks were together at the bottom of the frame, roughly where the diff would be on an a series car. They then moved them to be out board and facing forwards like this, according to Chris, purely to make them easy to get at for adjustment, as in the rear engined stuff they ended up tight behind to fuel tank, I bought one of the first/very very early of these frames with the outboard shocks for my Z project as they were just developing it at the time.

I have also seen the L shaped hinge section crack, on the Z cars Busa stuff. I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

To be fair it was made clear to me that the frame was under development when bought it, there was one on a test car which was not used for test drives and another on a stand which is the one I got, plus I got it £500 cheaper than subsiquent people. The car went back to z's for some set up work at my request and whilst it was there the billet alloy top arm mounts and rocker arms were replaced with steel fabricated items FOC as warranty work and the reasons for this were explained to me, I at least admired the fact that there was always a desire to sort issues out as soon as they arose and try to constantly improve things as opposed to knocking the same faulty shit out year on year with despite the feedback that came in, minisport springs to mind here!
