catch plate for boot lock

Awright guys? Im gona have to get someone to knock me up a simple plate but just wanted peoples input. "2"x "2" plate then another peice welded to that on a 45 degree angle. Do you think this would work?? Just trying to imagine where the boot catch will sit when i close the boot lid etc
