1. Either between the air filter and charger, or straight to free air.

Okay a bit more research now done. would a 3 bar fuel pump be suited (rather than 4 or 5) and in rising tate regulators the ratio of 1:1 - so basically i could have a system that runs on 3psi on idle no boost and then it would run at 10psi on 7pounds boost? - is it a concern to have a pump with base pressure at 30 pounds - (eg bosch 044) Edited by Earwax on 19th Apr, 2013. |

The regulator sets the fuel pressure, not the pump. The pump is capable of maintaining 3 bar fuel pressure in a high pressure application, but it is the regulator that maintains that pressure. Use a low pressure regulator set at 3 psi, the pressure at the pump will still only be 3 psi. The pressure wil rise with boost pressure so 15psi boost would actually see fuel pressure at 18psi at the pump. Just use the tried and tested Malpassi fuel regulator and the bosch external fuel pump. Any high pressure fuel pump which there are many to choose from will do really. A nice neat option is the SPi/MPi fuel tanks with a built in pump. The pumps in those can be replaced with a higher flow unit from other cars if you think it needs it, or if like me, use the Walbro 255 pump in an SPi tank, which is way over kill for what it is being used for lol Edited by Sprocket on 19th Apr, 2013. Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:

thanks sprocket - i will look out for a malpassi rising rate 1:1 regulator. i see lots of 'standard efi type fuel pumps and i take your point about overkill but wouldn't the ideal 'matched' fuel pump only need say 3lbs to 20lbs at full boost?? not the 30 stock pressure of most efi???? |

If you use any high pressure fuel injection pump, it will work perfectly fine at 3psi or 20psi under boost.
