Hey guys i'm currently drivin a almera sri cus it was comfortable and had a nice interior and all that bull, but i came 2 my senses a few weeks ago and realised it was time to stop be sensible and to start destroyin the roads in sumthing very fast and amazingly cool, the answer A MINI. The only prob now is i'm not sure wot type, mini cooper, 1275 gt, supercharged or my fav a turbo. The main thing is i dont wanna spend time on the mechanics and runnin, i havent got a clue about that stuff so i need to buy a whole car that runs and mainly is fast, fast enough mainly to beat my friends boy racer saxo and proof the mini is the daddy!!!

Please guys i need your help

To be honest mate, if you are looking for something both fast and reliable, a Mini is not your best option I am afraid to say.
I love them as much as anyone else, but a Mini is either fast and fragile, or slow and reliable, it is very difficult to achieve fast AND reliable with something that was designed in the 1950's!
If you want something to beat Saxo's with character, my idea would be go and buy yourself an old school hot hatch...........

Probably not what you want to hear, but it is my honest opinion.

got it off a guy i worked, golf nut. Borught it off him for a 1,500 and he brought it back off me 5 monthes later for the same price. He put in a mk3 v6 engine, that was fast but i dont think the insurance companys wud be very nice 2 me with sumthing like that so i thought the mini may be a betta choice! But if u guys honestly dont think its really the rite car for wot im afta i'll take ur word for it, just av to wait until i can afford a v-tec i spose?

Cheers for the help guys very much appreciated

But you say above that you don't know anything about the mechanics side of it. So you would be forking out money left right and centre to pay someone else to fix it for you when it broke. And believe me, it WOULD break.

Also I think you will find the 16v Mk2 Golfs were 1800cc.*happy*

Well, going off topic here. But it could've been a 1.8 16v, but that's unlikely as the insurance would've killed you on that too. Also, they can be pretty quick, so I doubt you'd have any problems with saxo's. Basically, you'd know about it.

In fact http://www.turbominis.co.uk/forums/index.php?p=search

I can do the basic mechanics on a car and general tunin i mean i would not feel confident doin a conversion or takin an engine apart. Also the fact i dont have the tools. I think my best option is as u say, wait till i have the money and time to be able to seriously look afta a turbo, i mite just get a standard mini cooper cab or summat to tie me ova till i can afford it.

thanks for you help, i think u hav saved me alotta money guys

When I say break I mean BIG BREAK e.g. gearbox or diff broken requiring re-build, or engine needing new bearings etc.
