Afternoon guys

Ive taken some pics of bits that need repairing but im unsure of which panels cover where. I know im gonna need a n/s rear quater panel, theres rust under the scuttle panels but looks like its the edges. Heres some pics.

Passenger side

Rear side bin

Passenger sill ?

Drivers side corner scuttle

Passenger under top dash rail

Passenger scuttle corner

Not Sure if im needing new hinge panels ( part where the cold intake is ) already got rear valence so thats sorted.
Wheres cheapest to buy panels from guys ?

Thanks

King Gaycharger, butt plug dealer, Sheldon Cooper and a BAC but generally a niceish fella if you dont mind a northerner

Pictures 1 & 3 you want a heritage full sill step panel. They come from the base of the screen all the way round to the B post.

Picture 2 you want an arch closing panel and a small repair to the arch. It will be tricky to fit with the quarter fitted.

Pic's 4 & 6 you need the scuttle closing panels

Pic 1 & 5 you also need the passenger side hinge repair panel with a big chunk of inner wing on it.

Then some home made repair panels for the inner wing tops etc

Agree with Andy. Also, what are the sills like? It looks like they have been renewed before and it would be interesting to know if they are oversills.

You say the rear quarter needs done; is the repair required low level? I could be temped to use an extended step sill repair and a separate panel for the A post

As for panels, heritage i don't think do the panel i've suggested using and to contradict myself, i'd try and use as many original or heritage panels as possible. As for where to buy, the last panel i bought was from bull motif. Service was good but to be honest they were the only supplier who had the panel i needed in stock

I'd also be tempted to fit scuttle end panels if the middle section is okay. IT will give you something decent to weld the wings to.

I've fitted the scuttle end repairs in the past but in honesty, they are a pain to get a decent fit. Cash being no object, i'd fit the heritage full width scuttle

The plan is to fit a flip front, got a deposit on a set up atm but need to get the body sorted first. Trouble is its my first crack at doing something like this so its a learn as i go.
Wheres the cheapest place for panels got a few sites bookmarked so will scout about.

I wouldn't buy cheapest possible, see what you can get away with pattern, and buy genuine where you can, especially a scuttle panel if you decide to change it. Genuine metal is thicker and better quality from what I've gathered.

Hey guys, just a quickie whilst on the subject.... I have brought panels from minispares, floor pans, heel board, quarters, valance and outer sills. I noticed the outer sills are not cut straight, along the bottom edge. You reckon these are no good? Should I have brought from heritage?

Think you may be right about the Seperate A panel rob tbh, theres a hole on the lower corner of the panel and a little hole at the top but i think that could be filled with weld die to it be so small.

Sills are one of those things that aren't worth buying genuine, buy extended sills and cut them down to original size, add drain holes if you wish.

Heritage sill are well worth buying. They actually fit the car. Cut down over sill are still the wrong shape when you cut them down as they are designed to go over standard sill.

Do you keep the over sills on there or do they play a hand in causing the rust (holding water etc)

Oversills are bad. Never fit sills over sills!
I have had those sills cut down before and fitted in place of normal sills, sometimes they're a godsend if the floor is a bit crappy where genuine sills meet. Fitted in place of a sill they're no problem at all.

Personally I wouldn't fit cut down oversills. You can get pattern short sills which will be comparable in price and will be a much closer fit. For example where they go under the folded over edge of the heal board.

I think andy has summed it up nicely.

Dont scrimp on panels. It will make life so much easyer and last so much longer

Is the Mini Machine stuff alright then?

Just made my list of panels and it comes just under £500 from them. Quite like the sound of their inner/outer sill complete units.

Yes it used to be nick. I havent had anything for a few years from them.
Those inner outer sills are great. They will even fasten the door step etc to them if you wish aswell. Lol

Door steps and hinge panel repairs are also on my list so will definitely be giving them a shout then!
